My name is Timber Burnette. I’m a plant physiological ecologist currently studying tree seedling mortality from drought. I am currently a PhD student with Dr. Anna Sala at the University of Montana and funded through the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) and Northwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (NW CASC). In Fall 2022, I’ll transfer to the University of Pennsylvania to be a PhD student with Dr. Brent Helliker (more information here).

I graduated from Grinnell College with a BA in Biology with Honors in 2019 and from the University of Kansas’ Dr. Joy Ward lab with a master’s in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2020.

I created this website with the intention of sharing my passion for plants, my research on them, and my various resources about them. I’ve always loved plants. I hope that through this website you’ll come to enjoy them as well!
